Here are some resources to help you along your way for the course. This will be updated as the course comes along, and I figure out what resources will benefit you. If anyone has any resources they find useful, please let me know and I will post them here so as to share them with everyone in the class.
Putty. This will allow you to code from home on the school servers. If people would like me to put up a tutorial for this at a later date, please ask me to do so.
WinSCP. SFTP, FTP client for windows. This will allow you to transfer files from your home to the CPSC servers. Again, if people would like a tutorial, I will publish one on here.
Cyberduck. This is an SFTP, FTP client for OS X.
Python Tutorial. This is a great resource for learning about Python, what it is, how things work, and can give you a chance to work ahead, if you’d like.
Gedit. This is a page for information about gedit, the editor I would recommend using at the school.
Emacs. This is a page for information about EMACS, which is an editor you can use with putty, and some of you will like using for the course. Personally, I prefer gedit, but some of you can use this, if you’d like.
